FROM GREAT EXPECTATIONS TO GREAT IMPLEMENTATIONS
Strengthening Intersectional and International Mobility through
Development of Management Skills among Young Scientists
Project's duration was 10 months: March 1 - December 31, 2007
Please study project's major outcomes.
The aim of this project was to improve post graduate students’ transferable skills and to enable them to be more mobile in their current studies and future careers.
This project consisted of a quantitative and qualitative research: a survey and a essay contest were aimed to gather doctoral candidates’ opinions about useful transferable skills and personal experiences from working in a research team.
The training course was designed to meet the needs of the doctoral candidates, and the e-course, along with the handbook, are meant to provide access to the knowledge gathered from the pre-training course research and shared during the training course to the wider public.
The key-event of the project was held in Tallinn on August 19–25, 2007 with the training sessions focused on personal skills management, team work, leadership, external management and international and intersectorial mobility. One day during the training week was spent in Helsinki visiting Nokia R&D Center, Technopolis Technology Center (pre-incubation and incubation programs for high-potential technology start-up teams; “leg-up” and “soft landing” services) and Helsinki University of Technology Laboratory of Work Psychology and Leadership.
To participate in the BaltMob project we expected you to write us an essay about one of your academic cooperation experiences. The authors of best essays were invited to the training with all expenses covered and have received various prizes. The deadline to submit the essay was July 1st, 2007. Please see the winners of the essay contest here.
From this web site you will find up-to-date information about the activities of the project.
